Cirrus Networks (ASX:CNW) has inked a partnership with Channel 7 Telethon for the provision of IT support for the Telethon Call Centre.

Based in Western Australia, the Telethon raises funds to support the medical and social welfare of children and young people and to fund research into children's diseases.

As per the agreement, the IT solutions company will be responsible for the entire IT setup, including cabling, internet access, Wi-Fi and provision and install of more than 140 laptops for use during the telethon weekend.

The agreement runs from 2017 through to 2021.

During this time, the Telethon Call Centre will be transformed into the Cirrus Call Centre, and is said to receive more than 35,000 calls during the telethon weekend every year.

Cirrus will also have IT support onsite to assist over the telethon weekend.

Cirrus Networks CEO, Matt Sullivan, said he was delighted with the partnership.

“Telethon is a Perth institution and has done amazing work for the kids since it began in 1968. Like most West Australians I remember watching the Telethon weekend on the TV growing up and it's incredible that Cirrus can now be a part of this worthy cause,” he mentioned.

Cirrus Networks recently mentioned that it has been raking in the new sales since it acquired Victorian IT solutions provider, NGage Technology Group, earlier this year, recording more than $15 million in new orders.

“[It] brings the amount of new orders booked by NGage since it was acquired by Cirrus in April to access of $15 million, highlighting the significant value this geographically strategic acquisition has brought to the company,” it said previously

Cirrus also said on that occasion that the win has positioned the company as a “preferred candidate” on a number of other opportunities in various locations around Australia.

The company also recently saw its founder and former managing director, Frank Richmond, leave his boardroom role in July, five years after establishing the company.
