Silver Peak inks distribution deal with NEC subsidiary

NESIC to distribute Silver Peak’s AD-WAN technologies globally

Silver Peak has appointed NEC Networks and System Integration Corporation (NESIC) as its global distributor, tasked with bringing its Software-Defined (SD)-WAN technology to the local market.

As per the agreement, the broadband and hybrid WAN solutions vendor has enabled the distributor to extend the global reach of the Silver Peak Unity EdgeConnect SD-WAN solution and offer turnkey systems integration services.

Following an “extensive evaluation” of competitive SD-WAN technologies, NESIC selected EdgeConnect based on the maturity and completeness of its advanced features and capabilities.

Comprehensive maintenance and support services will be delivered by NESIC’s global partner NCR Group.

In its go-to-market strategy, NESIC will focus on enterprises embracing cloud-based services with 100 or more global offices, initially targeting the manufacturing, financial and services sector markets.

According to Silver Peak, EdgeConnect will provide NESIC clients with virtual overlays to connect users to applications with the flexibility to use any combination of underlying transport technologies without compromising network or application performance.

It added that this allows enterprises clients to confidently accelerate cloud initiatives, realise substantial cost savings and attain greater business agility.

Silver Peak channels vice-president, Derek Dal Ponte, said the company looks forward to partnering with NESIC to bring the “full power” of EdgeConnect to mutual enterprise clients in Japan and around the globe.

“With turnkey sales, service and support, NESIC is well positioned to address the immediate demand for SD-WAN and extend its leading systems integration services to a rapidly expanding client base,” he mentioned.

NESIC general manager, Yukinobu Noguchi, said to address the escalating demand for SD-WAN technologies from local and global clients, it selected the most complete SD-WAN solution available.

“With EdgeConnect, we can deliver turnkey integration services with comprehensive support, allowing our clients to confidently embrace cloud services, deliver predictable application performance and embark on a shift toward low-cost broadband connectivity,” he added.

Silver Peak’s Unity EdgeConnect SD-WAN solutions are also distributed across the Australia and New Zealand markets by datacentre value-added distributor and Exclusive Networks arm, BigTec Pacific.

In addition, Ingram Micro and China Telecom are distributors for Silver Peak for the Asia Pacific region.
