Anthony Clarke has left his senior director of sales role at CA Technologies to take on the area vice president and country manager position for Pivotal in Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ).

In the recently created role, Clarke will have the task of solidifying Pivotal Software's presence in the region while he leads local teams and develops and implements localised market growth strategies.

He served as CPT Global general manager for 10 months prior to joining CA Technologies.

“With his strong track record collaborating, building, and leading teams in order to achieve business growth, we are confident that Anthony will help us solidify our presence in the region,” said Lionel Lim, vice president of Pivotal APJ.

Clarke has more than 20 years of experience having worked as a country manager for Dynatrace, led the divestiture from Compuware and the subsequent growth in the A/NZ region.

Hitachi Data Systems, Sun Microsystems (StorageTek), Concurrent Computer Corporation, and IBM are also among the companies Clarke has previously worked for.

“Pivotal’s growth, driven by customers embracing our cloud technologies and methodology, has set the foundation for success in the region,” said Clarke.

“We are well positioned to continue working with businesses and other organisations across Australia and New Zealand to embrace the global movement towards transforming how businesses build and run software.”

Pivotal Software provides cloud-native software platform, developer tools and services to help modernise development practices.

The company filed for an initial public offering (IPO) in March, listing on the New York Stock Exchange on 20 April 2018.

Prior to the public listing, Pivotal was majority-owned by Dell.

Pivotal was founded in 2013 after being spun out of EMC and VMware and receiving a major investment from GE.

Dell EMC and VMware transferred teams and contributed assets and technology to Pivotal that have since become key elements of its cloud-native platform and strategic services.
