Multimedia Technology distributes HP SSDs

Signs deal with unnamed licensed manufacturer

Multimedia Technology will be distributing Hewlett-Packard SSDs following a successful soft launch.

Melbourne-based technology distributor Multimedia Technology (MMT) has announced it will supply the Australian market with HP solid-state drives (SSD) as it teams up with a licensed manufacturer.

Purchasing manager for MMT Mark Eichler said the distribution agreement came about due to how it has maintained a relationship with the licensed manufacturer.

It’s a well-positioned product group and it was a simple decision to jump on board,” Eichler said.

“With HP maintaining a healthy position in the Australian PC market, we see a natural desire for resellers to utilise HP certified products. With MMT being a market leader in the introduction of SSD, HP SSD complements our offerings in this segment.

“With our considerable experience in this market and our database of HP resellers, we see this as a natural fit.  We expect that sales of HP SSD’s will be incremental on our existing business that we’re committed to from the market leader Samsung”.

MMT will initially offer drives in the NVMe range, portable SSD and 2.5 inch SATA internal drives, with the expectations that the range will increase over time.

With this announcement, MMT adds HP SSDs to its complement of Samsung, Seagate and Western Digital drives.
