DXC Technology forms strategic Google Cloud partnership

Both companies will co-invest in solution development, training and certification

DXC Technology has formed a strategic partnership with Google Cloud as it launches a new Google Platform Centre of Excellence (COE) and a Google Cloud Artificial Intelligence (AI) COE.

The partnership will see both companies co-invest and collaborate on solution development, training, certification and marketing campaigns to sell and deliver Google Cloud Platform services.

In particular, DXC will combine its digital offerings such as workplace and mobility, cloud and platform services, analytics, business process services and security with the Google Cloud platform.

The collaboration will initially focus on targeting joint solutions for industries such as insurance, utilities, automotive, consumer products, retail, banking and capital markets.

“Our new Google Cloud partnership will benefit clients looking to go to the next level in their digital transformation,” DXC executive vice president and general manager of offerings Edward Ho said.

“Google Cloud’s infrastructure, products and solutions together with DXC’s industry expertise and leadership in AI and machine learning will define new pathways for enterprises to access, manage and leverage data-intensive workloads on a global scale.

“The resulting insights will enable clients to provide a more personalised, tailored digital solutions while capitalising on the capability, value and benefits of an open, collaborative and secure cloud.”

Google Cloud worldwide channel sales vice president Carolee Gearhart further added the partnership will create new pathways to the cloud for thousands of enterprise customers.

Specifically it will focus on delivering capabilities at scale such as application transformation and migration to Google Cloud Platform, or as the enablement of robust e-commerce engines; managed infrastructure and platform services, and resale of Google Cloud Platform, for clients that move to the platform.

It will also provide deep insights into clients’ workplace services environments through Google Cloud machine learning and AI services, to enhance the workforce experience and provide a digital support foundation using predictive and proactive analytics for mobile device management.

On top of this it will also offer the ability to leverage massive data sets for “mashups” that provide business insights and drive fine-tuned customer-targeting strategies from AI; provide expanded options for the delivery of managed SAP solutions worldwide on Google Cloud Platform for clients who run SAP; and provide professionals, trained by Google, to implement and support Android applications.

The new collaboration comes as Google Cloud recently announced that it will be supporting VMware workloads following customer requests for better interoperability between the two vendors, with the Google Cloud VMware Solution by CloudSimple announced as a result.

Globally, DXC was one of the first partners to jump onboard with VMware Cloud on AWS last year. The two companies also collaborate to co-create solutions such as a digital workspace called MyWorkStyle.
