Sydney managed services provider (MSP) Secure Agility has partnered with Cisco, Rubrik and Pure Storage to develop a cloud platform.

OurDC4  offers data centre-as-a-service solution across three Tier 3 data centres in NSW, with two residing on Metronode's data centres in Silverwater and Wollongong and the third located in an unspecified Equinix data centre in Sydney.

Through Metronode's -- where GovDC resides -- Secure Agility can ensure redundancy for NSW GovDC customers, while Equinix's can be utilised as a primary data centre by commercial or enterprise customers.

According to Secure Agility, being within GovDC means it is sanctioned for use by NSW state government departments.

David Abouhaidar, CEO of Secure Agility, said they built three identical environments in order to provide efficiency and simplicity.

Charlie Tannous, technology director of Secure Agility, said the three vendors were selected for their complementary offerings, combining Cisco’s and Pure Storage’s FlashStack along with Rubrik’s technology.

“For example, we can now use FlashStack as a converged solution for on-premise infrastructure for the Hybrid Cloud Platform, allowing customers to seamlessly integrate compute and storage resources with Kubernetes clusters,” Tannois said.

“And with Rubrik, enterprises built on Cisco technology can deliver near-zero recovery times, accelerate application development, and unlock actionable insights on operational efficiency and compliance via custom reporting.”

Luke McGoldrick, country manager for A/NZ for Rubrik, said the new platform will help push for more government innovation in Australia.

“It’s important that government – at all levels – lead by example and demonstrate how organisations can deploy the right infrastructure and cloud technology to remain competitive in the digital economy,” McGoldrick said.

Michael Alp, vice president for A/NZ at Pure Storage said the solutions of OurDC4 were a “critical development” for the NSW state government.

“Pure’s core mission is to deliver a modern data experience to our customers. Secure Agility is doing that with GovDC, taking the stress away from the end-user and enabling them to maximise the use of their data resources seamlessly across the hybrid cloud securely and in a timely fashion," Alp said.

Andrew Stevens, director of NSW sales and operations at Cisco added the combination of all technologies involved, addressing data sovereignty and security and delivering on automation “will add tremendously to the breadth of offering from the NSW GovDC Marketplace”.
