  • Don't bend it that way: Apple says only nine customers complained of bent iPhones

Apple, responding to Bendgate, Bendghazi, or whatever you wish to call the issue of seemingly-bendable iPhone 6 and 6 Plus models, claims the problem isn't nearly as widespread as the Internet hullabaloo would suggest. Apple told the Wall Street Journal a mere nine people have come in with bending complaints since the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus's launch last Friday.

  • Olloclip's 3-in-1 macro lens opens up a whole new tiny world

The iPhone 5s has an excellent array of hardware and software features that make it a great tool for taking photos, but there's only so much it can do with a fixed lens and a digital zoom. Olloclip's line of clip-on accessories do quite a lot to improve this problem, letting you play with zoom, focus, and image manipulation. While I've had fun playing with the company's 4-in-1 model in the past, my current obsession is its new specialty macro kit--a 3-in-1 lens with 7x, 14x, and 21x macro magnification.

  • Staff Picks: iOS apps you should check out now

It's no surprise that the App Store has gotten a wee bit crowded over the last few years. With millions of iOS devices activated every year, and tens of thousands of app developers itching to make software for those devices, there's new and cool stuff (along with new and not-so-cool stuff) arriving on the Store every day. Trying to keep up with it all is a fool's errand, as we at Macworld know all too well.

  • Vellum: App offers a sleeker way to build ebooks

Since the early days of the .epub and .mobi formats, writers and publishers have been trying to find better ways to make ebooks. Some writing apps included primitive built-in options. A few design apps offered limited-functionality exports. But few apps have thoroughly focused on building ebooks.

  • Wacom Cintiq Companion Hybrid: Android graphic tablet tries to do too much

I'm a huge fan of Wacom's multitouch and pressure-sensitive tablets, and it thrilled me to see the company taking its first foray into building its own tablet computers, the Cintiq Companion and Cintiq Companion Hybrid. For years, Wacom has licensed its technology to Windows laptop manufacturers; to see the company selling its own computer hardware is an exciting step.

iOS 7 is almost ready for you to take home: Apple CEO, Tim Cook, announced at the company's special Tuesday event that its newest mobile operating system would be available on Wednesday, September 18, for free.

  • 12 things you may not have known about OS X Mavericks

Though both operating systems are set to arrive this Spring (in Australia), we know a lot more about iOS 7 than we do about its Mac sibling, OS X Mavericks. But with a little digging through the keynote slides and through Apple's OS X preview website, we were able to find 12 things you may not have heard or noticed about the company's next operating system.

  • Guide: Getting started with the iPhone 5

Congratulations, you've braved the lines, delivery wait times, or in-store negotiations to snag yourself a brand-new iPhone 5. But before you get to playing with your new device, you'll probably want to get to know it and set it up. Thanks to iOS 6's step-by-step activation process, Apple's made it pretty simple to get started; but just in case you need some extra help, we've put together a comprehensive guide for activating your new iPhone, transferring data from your old phone, and some suggestions for exploring its new features.

  • iOS 6 arrives on September 19

Apple announced at Wednesday's press event that the newest version of the company's mobile operating system, iOS 6, will be available for users to download on September 19. The update will be free and available for the iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4, and iPhone 4S, along with the second- and third-generation iPads. If you have iOS 5 installed, you'll be able to download iOS 6 over the air on the 19th via the Software Update screen in the Settings app; if you're running a previous version of iOS, you'll have to use iTunes.
