Dicker Data and ARN held a Melbourne Cup event for more than 220 partners and staff at Palmer & Co in Sydney. The constant rain didn't dampen proceedings and there was plenty of fine food and drink to keep everybody happy. As the big race approached the punters in the room were spending a lot more time looking at their phones and the big screen, while those with less interest in the main event continued to party. However, there weren't too many winners when Michelle Payne brought Prince of Penzance sailing home at 101/1 in yet another remarkable chapter in the rich history of the Melbourne Cup.
