    Partners turned out in droves to attend AWS’ annual partner summit in Sydney. Held at the Sofitel Wentworth in the heart of the CBD, the event featured keynote addresses from head of channels and alliances A/NZ, Stefan Jansen; head of worldwide alliances, channel and ecosystem, Terry Wise; as well as partners Datacom and Versent. Attendees were also able to attend special breakout sessions relating to the partner ecosystem. Photos by Tom Jones.

    The official afterparty for AWS re:Invent 2015 was held at the Linq carpark in Las Vegas. Attendees were fenced in by stacks of shipping containers and were treated to food and drinks from some of the city's best known restaurants and bars. The entertainment ranged from mini golf to the giant Intel video game wall, music was provided by DJs Team Ezy and Zedd.     IN PICTURES: Amazon Web Services showcases partner projects at Sydney Summit

    Amazon Web Services' (AWS) Summit took place at Sydney's Hordern Pavilion and Royal Hall of Industries. Amazon.com vice-president and CTO, Werner Vogels, opened the event with insight into the company and its place in the global market, and moved to speak on reasons customers move to Cloud. The Summit also features a showroom with displays from partners.

    The latest ARN Roundtable was held at Sydney's est. and drew a group of ICT industry executives to discuss the role of the Channel in guiding customers in their adoption of Cloud technologies in 2013 and beyond. Attendees considered the challenges surrounding the differing cloud models, some of the unique applications of Cloud in the marketplace, discussions concerning the quality (and cost) of Australia's telecommunications infrastructure, data sovereignty (and security) and whether Cloud is being over-hyped, and perhaps over sold, in this still immature market.
