Many of the IT industry's finest plus some of rugby union's greats have come together to raise funds for Queensland's flood victims at a special lunch at the historic Victoria Barracks Officers’ Mess, Paddington, Sydney. Former Chief of the Defence Force, General Peter Cosgrove, hosted the lunch. Table hosts included: Major General David Morrison, the current Commander Forces Command Wallaby coach, Robbie Deans; Bob Dwyer; Simon Poidevin; Paul Clitheroe and Vince Sorrenti. So far, more than $200,000 has been raised from luncheons organised by industry veteran, John Walters. Walters said he received fantastic feedback from the attendees stating that even though there were so many famous faces in the room, it was pleasing to see how down-to-earth and engaged they were. Another event funding raising event is also on the cards later on in the year, in the form of a Wallaby boat cruise.
