    NEXTDC launched the first in a series of inaugural networking events for its strong partner community in Melbourne and Sydney to explore new business relationships via a speed-dating model. Key presenters represented a strong cross-section of the channel community including Cloud Plus founder and chief executive, Jules Rumsey, Somerville general manager cloud services, Chris Borg, Infinidat country manager A/NZ, James Byrne; Microsoft principal solution architect, Chris Zhong, AXONVX systems project director, David Hooton and NEXTDC general manager channel sales, Steve Martin.

    StorageCraft officially launches its new Cloud Service in Sydney (+ 17 photos)

    StorageCraft held its official product launch at the Hilton on February 18 to introduce its new Cloud Service, as part of its StorageCraft Recovery Solution. StorageCraft Sydney general manager, Stan Nelson, introduced the new product before attendees were led through a live demo by sales representative, Gavin Ng. As StorageCraft has contracted NEXTDC to host the Cloud service to enable Australian data and systems to stay within the country, group executive sales and marketing, Adam Scully, said a few words.

Acronis held a roundtable around the theme of Lead from the front: It’s time to have the Who? What? Why? enterprise mobility conversation. NEXTDC held a Steve Martin-led presentation, The leadership role of the channel in moving customers to the Cloud – and understanding realities, while IBM's panel discussion considered Analytics – The channel’s new sweet spot.     It was a rainy day but that didn't dampen spirits at the latest ARN Roundtable, held at Sydney's est restaurant. Attendees discussed everything Cloud related, focusing on data sovereignty and colocation. In addition, they spoke about the Cloud's evolution, what the channel needs to do to support the move to the Cloud, and also addressed the need for services in this space.This roundtable was sponsored by NextDC.     Far from a soft launch, Huawei used its inaugural ICT Roadshow to launch not only its new distie, DNA Connect, but a new Channel business strategy, new products and new goals for 2014. The event was held at Sydney's Randwick Racecourse, and saw more than 800 attendees across two days treated to workshops, keynote speeches from industry experts and even some comedic relief from the ABC's host of the new inventors, James O'Loghlin.

    Amazon Web Services' (AWS) Summit took place at Sydney's Hordern Pavilion and Royal Hall of Industries. Amazon.com vice-president and CTO, Werner Vogels, opened the event with insight into the company and its place in the global market, and moved to speak on reasons customers move to Cloud. The Summit also features a showroom with displays from partners.
