Channel treated to a touch of tangerine as NEXTGEN hosts Summer Party 2017
Following its success in 2016, NEXTGEN held its annual Summer Party on Bennelong Lawn in the Sydney Botanical Gardens, amidst a backdrop of Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge views. With a touch of tangerine dress code, the specialist distributor hosted Actifio, Commvault, Nimble Storage, Oracle, SAP and SolarWinds, alongside key reseller partners across the channel. The Oracle User Experience (UX) Tour, held in Sydney, included a partner expo and strategy presentations. The tour showcased the team’s work in the development of Oracle’s latest Cloud applications. It also offered a glimpse into the future of the Cloud user experience with IoT, visualisations, and wearables. Oracle regional managing director A/NZ, Tim Ebbeck, introduced the tour and Oracle group vice president of applications, user experience, Jeremy Ashley, spoke about how Oracle looks to embrace the challenges of Cloud and emerging consumer technology disruptions. According to Ebbeck and Ashley, a new strategic focus on design is required to face these challenges.

NEXTGEN held its second annual summer party on Bennelong Lawn in the Sydney Botanical Gardens, on the tip of one of the most spectacular views of the Sydney Opera House, Harbour Bridge and beyond. In conjunction with partners Oracle, SolarWinds, CommVault, Nimble Storage and ARN, the event was NEXTGEN’s way of thanking partners for their business and support. Attendees were treated to champagne from Veuve Clicquot and experienced the rare opportunity to sample a new offering from Veuve not yet available in Australia. The Champagne blend was served on ice with a selection of fruits to bring out the characteristics of the beverage. Oracle’s senior vice president, global cCloud go-to-market delivered a keynote that centered around Oracle’s Cloud strategy, and the need for HR help to drive transformational change within their organisations. Other sessions were led by speakers including former Queensland premier, Anna Bligh, Chris Richardson and Morris Miselowski, with practical tips for the future from HR industry leaders including Greg Savage and Antony Ugoni. Highlights of the event included a smorgasbord of food experiences featuring breakfast with Julie Goodwin and cocktails and canapes with Matt Moran.
