CeBIT 2015 hid in a concrete wasteland at Olympic Park, snuggled under the dome. The trade show seemed smaller than the year before buoyed as it was by dozens of start-ups in their own alleys. The multinationals were sadly lacking: Here IBM, there HP - both big well designed displays, but that was it. There was a sprinkling of channel players - Veeam, Autotask, ESET, i-LAN/Draytek, Xirrus, Ruckus Wireless, Meridian IT, caught the eye - but there were also plenty of lightning companies from China, and some interesting invaders looking to spruik overseas interest - the New York Times, Germany, the Philippines, and Wellington, New Zealand, which is currently trying to pull Australian start-ups to it's bubbling - but windy - city. The drones, robots and 3D printers with model collections, stole the show, and the rest was rather bland. Feedback from the few stallholders I spoke to was a little ho-hum, but time will tell. Here is the best and the most channel of the show through my eyes. Photos by Editorial Director, MIKE GEE.
