CHS Electronics makes Latin America move

Global distributor CHS Electronics is shifting into Latin America with the purchase of three large distributors in the region.

CHS Electronics has agreed to buy Intcomex, which had sales of over $US200 million in 1997; Acron SA, which had sales of $US32 million last year; and Cornejo Informática SA, which had sales of $US21 million in 1997.

These acquisitions, when finalised within three months, are expected to boost CHS's Latin America sales to $US1.8 billion.

CHS Electronics distributes a variety of computer products to over 100,000 resellers in 42 countries in Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa.
