ASG wins $87.8 million WA deal

Perth-based services provider, ASG Group, and its partner, Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), have secured an $87.8 million contract for the Western Australian Government's Public Service sector.

ASG CEO, Geoff Lewis, said the deal was one of its biggest service contracts to date and would provide the company with a good opportunity for scoring more government deals throughout Australia in the future.

IBM, Unisys and Fujitsu were the other contenders for the contract.

Under the 10-year contract, ASG and CSC will utilise Oracle software to provide data centre, operations management and application support services for the Government's Shared Corporate Services program.

ASG and CSC formed a partnership last year and were name preferred tenderers for the contract in October.

Lewis said ASG would be in charge of 75 per cent of deal. CSC would look after the remainder including the data centre and operational management.

ASG would recruit more staff to help with the implementation of the software with the government's IT infrastructure, he said.

It also had its sights set on securing another government deal with NSW Health to provide similar services for its shared services sector, Lewis said.
