Ex-Kaz chief to manage Fujitsu sales team

Mike Foster will also be in charge of integrating the vendor’s newly acquired businesses

Former Kaz Group managing director, Mike Foster, has been appointed Fujitsu group executive director of sales and will be responsible for rounding up the vendor’s newly acquired businesses.

Foster, who once shared his previous role with Kaz founder and current owner of PKBA, Peter Kazacos, assumed the newly created position one week ago. The Telstra (ASX: TLS) IT services subsidiary was picked up by Fujitsu in March for a cool $200 million. Fujitsu also snapped up SAP firm, Supply Chain Consulting, in tandem.

With the two acquisitions, the vendor has become one of the top three players in the IT services business and Foster will focus on driving lucrative deals similar to Fujitsu’s system integration contract with Qantas in April.

“This will involve to sales force to identify opportunities, winning the deals and getting our organisation available to deliver the required services,” he said.

While the new sales director could not detail the specifics, he said the vendor had a host of new clients lined up.

Foster is also charged with integrating the two newly purchased companies and all their staff into Fujitsu’s existing business.

“We are putting in some new strong processes around pipeline management, training and skills development,” he said.

Foster is an industry veteran and became involved with Kaz Group through his employment which Telstra. Having worked there for nine-and-a-half years, he was responsible for setting up the telco’s sales and channel department for corporate, government and small business customers.

He also did a three-year stint as managing director for EMC and spent 12 years as managing director of NCR.
