Brennan IT offers managed services with Cisco Wi-Fi

Brennan IT will be offering managed services to accompany its Cisco Meraki Wi-Fi offerings.

The company said the service will make it simpler for business customers to offer corporate and guest Wi-Fi access especially with mobile devices. Demand for centrally managed Wi-Fi services drove the offering, according to Brennan.

Cisco director of partner business group for Australia and New Zealand, Jason Brouwers, said that market trends such as mobility and Cloud mean midsized businesses have rapidly increasing IT demands with limited resources.

He said Brennan was "helping to meet the mid-market’s demand for a highly secure, reliable and headache-free BYOD network.”

Brennan IT practice director of communications and security, Lyncon De Mello, said the service was a natural extension of the company’s managed data networking product.

“Now we can offer a solution for our customers to extend the reach of their network right down to the wireless devices, and we can manage it all for them remotely, so it complements the core products really well. It can also provide customers with a key competitive advantage, by enabling guest and customer access.”

Meraki was founded by PhD students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and acquired by Cisco in December 2012 for an estimated $US1.2 billion.
