Acer appointed to WA Government computing and mobile panel

The Western Australian Department of Finance has awarded PC vendor, Acer, membership of the new common use arrangement contract for computing and mobile devices.

The Common Use Arrangement (CUA) will provide a centralised procurement framework to assist the state’s government agencies to acquire computing and mobile devices.

The CUA covers all agencies in the State and is mandatory for government agencies in the Perth metropolitan area.

The deal is for an initial contract period of two years, with three twelve-month extension options.

Acer said it submitted its full range of business desktops, tablets, hybrids and all-in-ones, and as well as its consumer range.

The vendor pre-selected a group of resellers with specialist public sector expertise from its State-wide network of established resellers to undertake the direct customer relationships.

Acer Oceanic sales director, Rod Bassi, said the firm’s inclusion on the panel will enable both small and large agencies to leverage Acer’s strength of a combined single supply and service operation.

The agreement was originally published in mid-February. At that time, the suppliers listed were CDM Australia, EDsys Computers, JB Hi-Fi, Toshiba and Winthrop Australia.

The updated list includes Acer, Moncrieff Technology Solutions and Stott & Hoare.
