Intelligent connectivity company, Allied Telesis, has picked up the annual iCMG Architecture Excellence awards for its Secure Enterprise SDN solution. This is the second time the company has been honoured at the annual iCMG Architecture Excellence Awards.

Last year, the company was awarded for its network management tool, Allied Telesis Management Framework (AMF).

Allied Telesis global product marketing director, Seiichiro Sato, said this year’s award-winning Secure Enterprise SDN Solution represents the company’s commitment to delivering innovations that bring proven benefits to customers in the enterprise networking sector.

Sato said the company is considerably ahead of other vendors in bringing a commercial SDN solution to the enterprise market.

“Although SDN has been of interest to both Cloud and managed service providers for some time, its relevance to the enterprise market has been unclear.

“The Allied Telesis Secure Enterprise SDN solution takes the underlying SDN technology built into many Allied Telesis products, and combines it with applications from partner vendors. This creates a comprehensive solution that can solve the challenges experienced by enterprise organisations today,” Sato said.

He added that the competition jury awarded it with the gong for the capabilities of the Secure Enterprise SDN solution, as well as the forward-looking business architecture that underlies it.

“They awarded it first place in the “Future IT” category, ahead of entries from other well-known international organisations, thus demonstrating the leadership Allied Telesis is taking when it comes to SDN.”

Sato also said being awarded, not once but twice, for its technologies that assist with network management and orchestration highlights the fact that Allied Telesis is a leader in this arena.
