UPDATED: Cylance signs global distribution deal with Westcon

Australia and New Zealand exempt in new deal that sees Cylance bet big on Arrow in the local market

Australia and New Zealand are exempt from a new global distribution deal between Cylance and Westcon, as the vendor bets big on Arrow in the local market.

Cyber security vendor, Cylance, has signed a global distribution agreement with Westcon in a deal which does not include the A/NZ region.

The terms of the global deal will see Westcon distribute Cylance’s endpoint security solutions through its reseller network on a global scale, with the exception of the local A/NZ market.

A Cylance spokesperson said that the agreement does not affect the vendor in Australia and New Zealand, as the vendor has chosen to deal exclusively through one of Westcon's major rivals following the appointment of Arrow in December 2016.

Cylance has also recently made a number of leadership appointments to drive its growth strategy in the local market.

According to a statement from the vendor, the two companies will ”provide advanced cyber security solutions to an ever-growing and ever-changing market".

Speaking of the deal, Cylance vice president, sales global distribution, Tim Mackie, said “We’re excited to add Westcon to the Cylance portfolio of Value Added Distribution partners.

“Westcon’s depth of geographic footprint combined with their local technical capabilities in key regions, such as Asia Pacific and Latin America make them an ideal partner as we expand our footprint all over the globe.”
