Former Oracle key alliances director and cloud service provider lead, John Poulter, has joined NTT Communications ICT Solutions as its director of alliances.

Poulter, who was in the account leadership role with Oracle for more than four years, had been in charge of the vendor's local development and execution of sales and marketing strategies, and strategic relationships.

He also oversaw the development and delivery of new business models and change programs to Oracle and cloud managed service providers, among others.

His tenure with Oracle extended beyond this role, however. Poulter was also the company's key alliances director and systems channel lead for more than a year, as well as its regional partner manager - also a role he held on to for more than a year.

Before Oracle, Poulter worked at itX Group, which later became a part of Avnet Technology Solutions, in a number of roles.

“I enjoy taking the lead on developing and implementing important strategic decisions, owning deals and negotiations, managing people and relationships, building and leading teams, developing innovative approaches to bringing in new customers and creating innovative business models,” Poulter noted on his LinkedIn profile.

He added that he aims to achieve career progression across multiple aspects of the business, to prepare himself for a CEO or regional vice-president position in the ICT industry.

Poulter’s appointment follows the recent push NTT Communications ICT Solutions has been making in the market.

Most recently, it has rolled out its recently launched software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) service for fashion and homewares boutique, Blue Illusion.

In May, the IT provider inked a partnership deal with Nimble Storage in Australia, making the latter the company’s storage solution partner, in a move that is set to allow it to provide the local market with an end-to-end storage solution.

NTT Communications ICT Solutions is also now a provider to establish Amazon Web Services (AWS) Direct Connect services for customers through Melbourne’s NEXTDC data centre facility.
