Mia Distribution has struck a deal with RingCentral Australia that will see it distribute hardware from RingCentral's preferred vendors.

RingCentral is a cloud communications vendor which works with Poly, Yealink and Cisco for hardware that supports its cloud services.

Under the deal, Mia will be in charge of the distribution of desk, cordless, receptionist and conference phones from Cisco, Poly and Yealink to Australian partners and customers.

RingCentral and Mia Distribution have also automated the ordering, provisioning and fulfillment process, allowing for hardware ordering to be made through the RingCentral portal.

Brad Milne, managing director at Mia Distribution, said he sees “significant benefits” from distributing hardware locally.

“With local stocking and logistics there is a much shorter lead time for orders, there’s local support from us and also from the vendors, and we already have established relationships with most of RingCentral’s partner community,” Milne said.

“There is also the surety that all the hardware we ship is configured, ready to use, and completely compatible for Australia and in the other regions we currently supply.”

Peter Hughes, regional sales vice president for Asia Pacific at RingCentral, said the partnership is an “important milestone” for the company as part of their Australian expansion.

“Mia Distribution has the specialised capabilities and responsiveness we are looking for in terms of third party logistics and professional services to quickly and efficiently configure and provision the hardware our customers need to support their RingCentral unified communications as a service (UCaaS) environments,” Hughes said.

This partnership follows the announcement of RingCentral's first channel marketing manager for Australia back in May.
