Typequick wins major award

An Australian software developer with a successful retail keyboard training product, Typequick, has won the Leading Market Share Award at the National Business Bulletin Business Star Awards which were presented earlier this month.

Sponsored by GIO Business Insurance and supported by the Department of Industry, Science and Tourism, the nominees came from all areas of business with just 16 finalists selected from over 200 local success stories.

Noel McIntosh, Typequick's managing director, said his company currently has about 75 per cent of the Australian keyboard training systems market and that large portions of sales are through large and small retail outlets.

As well as retail sales, he claims to be catering to more than 1000 corporations and a further 1000 educational institutions in Australia and overseas.

Peter Reith, Federal Minister for Workplace Relations and Small Business, presented the award during a gala function at the Museum of Contemporary Art.
