SMEs in service network sights

Small and medium size enterprises (SMEs) are the target of a new partnership between Navision Software and PricewaterhouseCoopers.

Effective immediately, PwC will provide a national service network for current and future Navision customers. PwC will partner with Naviteam Australia, a Navision integrator, to sell, service and support local customers.

Navision provides solutions for the SME sector -- businesses with a turnover of between $20 million and $150 million -- which include financials, e-commerce and human resources support. Manufacturing and distribution modules will be rolled out in January.

Mark Goddard, PwC global risk management solutions partner, said Australian SMEs were increasingly asking for an enterprise solution.

"Small and medium sized organisations are looking for a global business solution representing world's best practice but without the complexity of some of the large-end ERP solutions," he said.

Navision customers in Australia include AC Nielsen, Bang & Olufsen, Ross Mining and the Queensland Legislative Assembly.

Goddard said the partnership was formed with a view to expanding to a global arrangement.

The announcement is particularly timely for both companies given the current issues of Y2K compliance, euro compliance and, more recently, GST compliance.

Navision announced a similar partnership with Ernst & Young in New Zealand last month.
