SYDNEY - In the lead-up to Compaq's announcement of its channel model at the end of the month, the vendor last week revealed a host of senior sales positions including two senior channel positions. According to a Compaq spokesperson, this initial list of approximately 100 announcements is the prelude to at least another 1400 company-wide appointments which will be finalised over the next month.
Of special significance to the channel are the appointments of: Greg Healy as general manager of Compaq's business division; Ben Reeve, the former small and medium business marketing manager for Compaq and now manager of segment and channel marketing; Rosalie Boyd, the manager of channel development; and Peter Boylan, the systems integrators industry manager.
Meanwhile, Compaq also confirmed several senior enterprise division announcements before adding that many of the direct selling sales staff that Compaq is expected to introduce will be announced over the next couple of months.
The notable appointments include: Paul Brandling, who has been named general manager of the enterprise division; national sales director, Peter Grimes; enterprise computing group manager, Tony Bill; and enterprise sales support manager, Mike Wells.
Enterprise division state managers have also been confirmed in NSW, QLD, ACT, and South Australia, while Peter Grimes will act as Victorian state manager.
