In another strategic move to bolster its flagging channel stocks, Cabletron last week signed up systems integrator Compaq Services as an accredited Spectrum reseller.
Cabletron will leverage Compaq Services' expertise in enterprise management on the Spectrum range for the management of multi-vendor systems. Compaq has already begun training staff and will have consultants ready to support the product later this quarter.
According to Ian Fewtrell, Cabletron's managing director, the Compaq Services partnership will offer its enterprise management customers a high level of after-sales service in what is largely recognised as one of the most complex of all sectors to support.
For Compaq Services, the Cabletron reseller deal will give the organisation "another value-added service for multi-vendor network management", said Mike Roguski, Compaq Services' sales manager.
