TechPlus goes for Billion

TechPlus Distribution has taken its first steps into the ADSL market, signing a distribution deal with networking vendor, Billion.

"I saw the product had some very good reviews and thought it would be a good addition to our line-up," TechPlus managing director, Paul Kern, said. "We approached them and it was good timing because they were looking for a distributor in Victoria and some coverage in other areas." TechPlus will carry Billion's ADSL modems, wireless routers and networking range.

"We are continually asked for ADSL modems because we also distribute the Snapgear range, which doesn't have built-in ADSL," Kern said. The new product range would interest SoHo and SME dealers, along with ISPs that sell ADSL modems.

"A lot of dealers that are buying Snapgear use it for SME customers but use the other brands for SoHo customers," Kern said. "This now gives them access to products for both types of customer from one supplier," he said.

Before the company puts any reseller incentives in place, Kern said he wants to become more familiar with the market.

"We've just taken on the product but as we move forward we'll start looking at some incentive programs and other things based on volume," he said. "We really need to know what happens in this market space before we go and put any incentives in place."

The Billion product range is also distributed through PC Range, Golden Tek, First International Trading, Ynot Computer Systems and Leader Computers.
