Sydney-based networking and security distributor, SecureServ, has become the latest local distributor for networking vendor, AscenVision.
The vendor's AscenLink product is an intelligent WAN traffic management solution that allows users to aggregate multiple LAN links, optimising traffic efficiency and uninterrupted connections. It is also distributed by Dovetail.
SecureServ general manager, Vic Whiteley, said it decided to take on the product because bandwidth management was a complementary product to its existing offerings.
Whiteley said AscenLink caters for everything from SMB to enterprise, and would be targeted at specific vertical including tourism.
SecureServ would look to bundle AscenLink with its ServGate unified threat management range.
"There is strong interest coming from the hospitality and hotel markets because they're trying to generate an effective broadband connection," he said. "It is no use having a secure network or link to the Internet if you can't have an effective WAN pipeline that is going to be up all the time."
Resellers would be offered technical training for the AscenLink product. SecureServ was also searching for more partners that dabble in security and communications technologies including VoIP and CRM applications.
A spokesperson for AscenVision said SecureServ's presence in Sydney and Melbourne had been a key factor in its appointment.
