D-Link has appointed its first consumer business manager to strengthen its consumer channel.
Tony Hospes will be responsible for developing relationships in the consumer arena with mass merchants, online catalogue houses and retailers. He will also deploy marketing and channel initiatives such as cashback schemes for end-users and product bundling opportunities to help increase reseller margins.
Hospes was previously a sales manager for Swann Communications and Targus. His first point of focus would be identifying ways in which D-Link could participate in the swell of convergence products hitting the consumer sector, he said.
He also planned to provide better training resources for existing partners.
