Security software vendor, Trend Micro, has appointed Dave Patnaik as SMB director for A/NZ. He joins from Netgear, where he was regional director for South East Asia.
Previous managing director, Chris Poulos, was made redundant in January due to management restructuring, which saw staff split into three areas - enterprise, SMB and consumer.
Patnaik said he would use his experience to expand Trend's SMB market presence.
"Security as an area that is constantly evolving and it's an exciting place to be in," he said. "I want to go to market with the right programs, strategies and investments to make sure we are meeting revenue and customer expectations."
Patnaik plans to increase reseller numbers and introduce more partner programs as well as SMB products such as secure content management appliances.
