Raritan recruits Danka IT for verticals push

KVM switch vendor, Raritan, has struck a partnership with services provider, Danka IT, to escalate its market presence in the telco, ISP and financial sector.

Raritan A/NZ director, Gary Hull, said it had been looking to recruit specific partners with access to customers that typically design and structure data centres.

"We haven't done much with telco carriers and we haven't made the inroads," he said. "Danka has the technical capability to give us access to those types of customers."

Danka will provide the whole Raritan range, including its latest CommandCentre NOC (CCNOC) platform. The service management solution is capable of integrating with third-party management systems such as IBM Tivoli, HP OpenView and CA Unicentre.

Danka IT NSW sales manager for managed service offerings, Scott Walters, said access to Raritan's products would give it the ability to offer complete in-house managed services.

"The solutions give IT administrators full control over what is on their desktops," he said. "With the CCNOC, they are able to manage services in-house with real-time reporting rather than have to rely on a software enhanced management system."

Hull said there were no immediate plans to bring on more partners. However the company would review opportunities on a monthly basis.

"More is not always better. We are currently looking at how we can develop our partners to help them achieve sales revenues and objectives," he said.
