LogicaCMG drives new deal

LogicaCMG has announced a three-year multimillion dollar outsourcing agreement with MTU Detroit Diesel Australia (MTUDDA), which is part of DaimlerChrysler Off-Highway.

The vendor replaces EDS which was the previous outsourcing provider in a three-year deal with the company.

While specific figures were not disclosed, MTUDDA said there was a 30-day transition as part of the changeover and LogicaCMG has moved in to provide on-site support and an entire IT hardware refresh.

“Previously, we ran on a totally outsourced model. In choosing a new outsourcing provider, we were looking for a true partner. This time we wanted to sit in the driver’s seat when it came to decisions regarding our IT requirements,” MTUDDA national IT manager Rocky Cassaniti said.

The companies are working on the largest component of the agreement, an entire IT hardware and software refresh. Over the next six months the vendor will look to replace all desktop and laptop computers, printers, servers and operating systems across 19 MTUDDA locations nationally.

MTUDDA’s communication infrastructure, such as PABX system and routers, will also be upgraded. In addition, the vendor is working on setting up a VoIP network for MTUDDA.
