WA retailer invests in custom-built facilities

New building to increase computer building capacity and reduce some overheads

Western Australian retailer, PLE Computers, will relocate its headquarters to a custom-built location to improve operations and increase its PC assembling capabilities.

The new building, in the suburb of Wangara, covers 800sqm and combines the retailer's administration and warehousing facilities with a shopfront. PLE owner, Peter Lingley said the relocation was in response to customer demand. The new facility will also reduce the expense of trucks travelling between PLE locations and security costs.

"The new location will triple our capacity to build PLE computers, which is important because we have a lot of bulk buying and government business," Lingley said.

Lingley said PLE will look to open another retail store this year. PLE Computers opened in 1970 as a typewriter retailer and how has a staff of 18. As well as assembling PCs, it sells products from several vendors including Acer, XFX and Western Digital.
