Oracle announced simplified pricing for its 11i applications suite last week. Effective immediately, customers will pay US$4,000 per power user and $400 per casual user for the software.
Oracle CEO Larry Ellison also last week detailed the company's new outsourcing plan, promising to slash customers' IT budgets by 5 per cent. Oracle will take over a client's complete IT operation in exchange for a five-year contract in which a company pays Oracle annually what it would spend on IT. Oracle promises to reduce that amount by 5 per cent.
Participating companies will become ASP customers of Oracle.com, Ellison said.
