Security vendor, Websense, has appointed Phil Vasic as country manager as part of its ongoing integration with SurfControl.
Vasic was previously general manager of sales at SurfControl. He has also held sales and account management roles with Axient and HP and chalked up 15 years experience in the industry. Websense acquired SurfControl last October.
Vasic's initial points of focus will be continuing to integrate the two businesses, developing market strategies and launching the vendor's new Channel Connect program in Australia.
"We've been successful in the marketplace and have strong channel presence, which is why I'm still here and able to lead Websense in Australia," he said.
The vendor will hold a roadshow across A/NZ at the end of the month to educate partners about the new program.
Vasic said the integration between Websense and SurfControl was going well, with clear decisions being made about product.
Websense now has about 50 staff in Australia including a dedicated threat analysts and product development engineers. It recently moved to a new North Sydney location.
