Vodafone's iPhone pricing announced

Operator's iPhone plans start from $69 per month with an upfront payment of $189 for the 8GB iPhone 3G

After weeks of speculation Vodafone's iPhone 3G pricing plans have been announced.

According to the pricing list, which was briefly available on the telco's website yesterday but officially unveiled today, the iPhone 3G will be available on Vodafone's Cap Contract or MyBusiness Cap on a 24-month plan.

Customers signing up to a $69 Vodafone Cap Contract will need to make an upfront payment of $189 for the 8GB model and $309 for the 16GB version. The $69 plan includes $310 worth of calls and text messages plus 250MB of data per month.

The $99 MyBusiness Cap requires a $99 upfront payment for the 8GB model or $219 for the 16GB model. It also offers $600 worth of talk and text and 500MB of data per month.

Customers can obtain the iPhone 3G 8GB model for free under the $169 Vodafone Cap Contract and MyBusiness Cap.

Vodafone said the iPhone 3G will also be available on plans excluding data.

Upfront payments can be broken down into monthly installments over the 24-month time frame. However, the iPhone does not support Vodafone Live! services, according to the telco's terms and conditions statement.

Vodafone announced its deal with Apple for the iPhone in May but is the last vendor to reveal pricing details. Last week Optus announced its iPhone contracts and said it will offer the 8GB model for free under its $79 'yes' iPhone 3G cap.

Earlier this month Telstra revealed it will offer the two iPhone models with $30, $80 and $100 monthly plans.
