Extreme enhances partner program

Vendor plans to ramp up its channel presence with a new tier of partner, and greater investments in training and marketing

Extreme Networks has enhanced its channel partner program as it looks to bring on new partners and improve its Australian coverage.

The new program includes a Diamond tier, which will be the highest level of partner and carries greater benefits – including market development funds, loyalty rebates and rewards for lead generation.

Extreme regional director, Simon Barnard, said the partner program had also been simplified.

“It’s easier to get certified now, with reduced costs of certification and educational content brought online,” he said.

“I’ve also put forward a proposal that we directly reward partners' sales staff with vouchers, as an incentive. We’re also undertaking more direct marketing and lead generation."

Barnard said he hoped the new program would encourage more partners to sign up with the vendor.

“There’s a lot of gaps in our coverage in Australia. Extreme Networks has no direct sales force, so we need to pass on all leads to partners.”

Extreme is strongest globally in health, education, hospitality and government markets, and Bernard said he was looking for partners in those verticals, as well as geographic regions where the vendor is lacking coverage, such as WA and SA.
