Datacom has become a NetApp gold partner
New Zealand IT solutions provider, Datacom, has become a NetApp (NASDAQ: NTAP) gold partner, gaining access to the vendor's full range of products and services.
Datacom New Zealand products general manager, Rob Braun, said the new status could improve the company’s market presence.
“We have been working with NetApp for about two years now,” Braun said. “This new development in our partnership will broaden the range of products and solutions that we can sell and gives us a bigger market reach.”
NetApp director of partner and sales A/NZ, Scott Morris, also pointed to market visibility as a reason for partnering with Datacom.
“With an introduction of distribution across both Australia and New Zealand, it really gave us an opportunity to expand our channel coverage,” he said. “We have a small number of partners and we were looking for the right partners in those territories to take us further out into the marketplace. Datacom was a good candidate.”
Datacom has become NetApp’s only gold partner in New Zealand but NetApp director of partner and sales A/NZ, Scott Morris, has indicated there are plans to promote more partners in its channel program.
“Becoming a gold partner means that the company has met commitment to a number of certified technical and sales staff and also a commitment to revenue target,” Morris said. “While we certainly don’t gauge how successful a channel program is by how many members we have, as relationships with partners start to expand and they invest more behind it, we will certainly have the resources there to take that forward.”
NetApp has 12 gold partners and three platinum partners in Australia.
