PKBA beats Datacom for Australian Central Credit Union contract

PKBA to provide managed services to the credit union

PKBA has ousted Datacom to win a contract with the Australian Central Credit Union.

Under the contract, PKBA will provide and support 700 PCs and laptops, a mix of business applications, dozens of application servers and the data communications network linking Australian Central’s sites.

PKBA will also provide an on-site team for Australian Central to deliver a full range of ‘business as usual’ services, including extended hours of support for key branches and after hours support for critical systems. The contract will run for several years, with the option to extend it further.

PKBA won the contract over incumbent, Datacom. Director of business development, Conrad Hilder, said the win reflected the growing interest in PKBA’s managed services solutions.

“We’re seeing a very positive interest in managed services from a lot of businesses over the past six to nine months,” Hilder said.

“We’re winning more, and larger contracts. Quite a reasonable percentage of our business is now done as managed services, and that’s a trend that we expect to continue.”

Earlier this year PKBA won a major managed services contract with Philip Morris, that marked the completion of the transformation of the Invizage business that it acquired in 2007.

It also participated in ARN’s recent managed services round table.
