HP and Red Hat have teamed up to develop a RISC Migration project solution.
The solution comprises Red Hat Enterprise Linux running on HP BladeSystems, and is designed as a high performance solution.
Each BladeSystem server purchased between now and the end of October will come with a trial of Enterprise Linux V5.3. HP is also offering free support during the trial period. In addition, any organisation that activates the Red Hat trial is eligible for a $500 education credit offer to be used towards a range of selected HP and Red Hat courses.
In a release, HP technology services manager for SMB and channels, Cyrus Pestonji, claimed the solution will be a conversation starter for both vendors’ channel partners.
“With cost pressures, customers are increasingly looking towards standards-based, open source software, running on a stable platform,” Pestonji said in the release.
