New Zealand-based IT solutions provider, Datacom, has won a multi-million dollar contract to provide mining group, Xstrata, with an ICT support desk for two years.
The around the clock support desk will assist more than 2000 users in nine locations and Xstrata has an option to extend the contract for two more years when the current period ends.
According to a statement from Datacom, it will be use Altiris as its IT management tool and utilise Xstrata’s existing IT infrastructure.
The deal comes on the back of Datacom reporting a a 35 per cent increase in year-on-year revenue and a 9.5 per cent lift in profit after tax.
But the company hasn’t been without setbacks this year, with rival firm, PKBA, being awarded a contract by the Australian Central Credit Union over Datacom in May.
