Ingram Micro has inked a distribution agreement with power management vendor, Upsonic.
The company previously held a relationship with POS and data capture specialist distributor, Vantex, which Ingram Micro acquired in May.
“Over the past three months, we’ve been integrating the business and sorting everything out,” Ingram Micro product manager, Martin Strong, said. “In the POS field we’ve also picked up vendors such as Epson and Motorola.”
Ingram Micro also represents rival power management vendor, APC, however, Strong didn’t expect much conflict between the two relationships.
“Both work in different market segments, so I don’t anticipate a conflict, although we haven’t discussed go-to-market strategy, as it’s a very new relationship,” he said.
Upsonic national sales manager, Robert Massarotti, said the new relationship should be a good fit.
“Dealing with Vantex for many years brought us closer to Ingram Micro following the acquisition,” he said. “We have a couple of other distributors in vertical markets, but we expect they will work fine with Ingram Micro – it is a dominant, broad-based organisation, and I think our other disties won’t mind doing their own thing within their niche.”
Upsonic’s other distributors include Anyware and recent sign-up Digital World Warehouse.
