Ingram Micro stalwart, Matt Sanderson, will leave Australia to become the new managing director of the distributor’s UK operations.
Sanderson will officially assume the role from the January 4, 2010, however, there will be a transitionary period beginning in December. As part of this transition, he will be involved in the search to find a replacement for the position of general manager of the volume business unit and consumer sales division.
In an email to staff, Ingram Micro vice-president and managing director, Jay Miley, expressed mixed emotions at the news.
“On the one hand, I am sad because we are losing a very talented and valuable member of our team, one who has contributed to the success of Ingram Micro Australia in a variety of ways. But on the other hand, I am excited for him because he is leaving Australia for a great opportunity that will further develop his career at Ingram Micro,” Miley said.
Sanderson joined the Australian subsidiary five years ago, having worked with Ingram Micro in the UK since 1995. He came to his current role following a staff restructuring earlier in the year.
In other news, Michael Colagiuri has been appointed director of Ingram Micro Australia’s operations and logistics organisation.
Miley said he was pleased with Colagiuri’s performance in managing the operations and logistics business, which he has been responsible for since March. He will report directly to Miley moving forwards.
“Colagiuri has been with the company for the last three years. He is a proven leader, who has earned my trust and confidence,” Miley said in the email.
Prior to joining Ingram Micro, Colagiuri held senior management roles in complex supply chain and transport environments for companies such as National 1 and Lyreco.
