Smartpen and accessories vendor, Livescribe, has called on Ingram Micro to broaden its presence in the retail and reseller channel.
The US-based company has appointed Ingram Micro as master distributor for its Pulse product range. The smartpens capture handwriting and sychronise it with audio recorded simultaneously to aid users in note-taking situations. While Livescribe is also targeting education and business segments, they will be addressed through a sub-distributor working with Ingram.
In a statement, Livescribe director of international sales, Remo Behdasht, said the new partnership further illustrated the company’s growing relationship with the channel and commitment to the Australian market.
Ingram senior director of volume business and consumer sales, Matt Sanderson, expected a warm reception from consumers. Sanderson recently announced his departure from Ingram Micro Australia to become managing director of the distributor’s UK branch.
“We’re anticipating strong demand from our retail partners in particular,” he said in a statement.
The 2GB Pulse Smartpen is available at $299 and records up to 200 hours of audio.
