Fonality wants channel to drive cloud telephony

Business communications provider appoints Richard Giuliano as channel manager to drive reseller recruitment and partner program

Business communications provider, Fonality, is on the hunt for resellers to provide its cloud-based phone system.

Called Fonality Connect, the VoIP-based system is aimed at small businesses with less than 20 employees. Starting from $39 per month per user, businesses get a Polycom handset, local and national calls and no upfront capital outlay free of contract.

Sydney-based Fonality vice-president of international sales, Marc Englaro, said Fonality Connect was a totally hosted phone system in the cloud. There are two Fonality Connect editions available: Standard and Team. The higher-end version offers an upgrade to advanced call centre features such as call queuing, graphical reports and call monitoring.

“We can bring all the functionality and capability to a business that doesn’t want to have equipment onsite or can’t justify the cost of a dedicated phone system,” he said. “They can have all the features that we were previously providing in an on-premise PABX system, but they can access it via VoIP, rather than having a box in their office.”

To help push its reseller recruitment drive, Fonality has appointed Richard Giuliano as channel manager.

“He will have access to our technical support team, sales engineers and professional services team in order to support partners doing implementations of the technology,” Engalo said.

Fonality is looking for traditional telco partners and system integrators.

“Because our technology is software running on computers, rather than boxes full of relay, we’re getting interest from partners involved in networking, data, PC support or IT,” he said. “They now see voice as just another application in their suite of tools. We get lots of data VARs and system integrators, looking at adding voice to their portfolio.”

Fonality launched its channel partner program in June 2008.
