Datacom has appointed Jonathan Ladd as its new group CEO, following the tragic death of Michael Browne.
Ladd is based in Sydney and has previously spent four years with Datacom as a director, and has worked with Browne on many aspects of the business. He has more than 30 years experience in the IT industry, including 10 years as CIO for P&O internationally.
In a statement, Datacom said directors felt it was important to quickly establish certainty around this position for staff and customers while the company is still coming to terms with Browne’s death. “There will be no change in Datacom’s direction and the company will continue with its growth plans as previously set by Michael and the board,” the statement said.
Executive Chairman, John Holdsworth, said directors had been reassured to have a person with Ladd’s experience and detailed knowledge of the company to step into the position in these difficult circumstances.
Browne suddenly passed away on July 31 after suffering a heart attack during a mountain bike ride.
He is survived by his wife Sue, and three children Fraser, Ashleigh and Cameron. Browne's funeral will be held on August 6 at 12.30pm at the Knox School Chapel in Warrawee.
