IT services provider, Harbour MSP, has become the first customer for datacentre provider, NextDC, booking in 1000sqm of space at its Melbourne facility.
Harbour MSP intends to use the facility to help offer a full suite of services including co-location, 24/7 infrastructure monitoring, management, security, networking, private cloud deployment and disaster recovery to its customers base in Victoria.
Under the agreement, Harbour MSP will initially take 600sqm of technical space expanding to 1000sqm within two years. Both companies expect to execute a binding and definitive agreement in the next sixty days.
The services provider had orginally signed a deal with E3 Networks in June to build a datacentre facility, but that has now fallen through.
“We have been able to secure our dedicated 1000sqm data hall built to Tier 3 standards along with ancillary operations and office space within the NextDC facility,” Harbour MSP commercial director, Andrew Hardy, said in a statement.
“NextDC has the team with the track record of delivering large-scale data centre projects within tight timeframes, has the financial capability. For Harbour MSP that combination was simply compelling in selecting NextDC as our facility provider in Melbourne.”
NextDC is on track to complete its capital raising and list on the ASX around December 13 under the ticker NXT.
