Juniper has acquired virtual security vendor, Altor Networks, for $95 million.
The purchase will help the networking vendor bolster its enterprise and service provider virtualisation play, according to Juniper.
Altor has worked on hypervisor-based firewall, on-board intrusion detection and network monitoring technologies.
Its products enable “security visibility, compliance and control over the entire virtual machine infrastructure”, Juniper said.
“This acquisition will extend our leadership in datacentre and cloud security and will enable customers to deploy a consistent set of security services across their physical and virtual infrastructure, while delivering lowest total cost of ownership,” Juniper executive vice-president, Mark Bauhaus, said in a statement.
