IPL Group has added Canadian IP vendor, Media5 to its product portfolio.
This agreement covers the full range of Media5 VoIP products and solutions.
IPL general manager, Paul Scanlan said it was setting up a group of products to help propel them into the cloud and hosting space.
“Our traditional base is PBX and a lot of our dealers are struggling a bit with going beyond IP to hosting and cloud. There’s a large portion that are stuck in a time warp and these gateway products will help them ease into new technologies,” Scanlan said.
“We’re steadily building up our portfolio of products that takes on the new wave of technology that’s coming out.
Scanlan said it will be targeting the hosting and carrier market.
The distributor has also expanded its reach into the Asia Pacific market place through establishing relationships with integrators in that region.
“We’ve traditionally had some ties into the region through the Oki brand, but now we’re taking some of our telecoms products into the region,” he said. “It makes sense because when you start dealing with hosting and the cloud, you’re not just focusing on Australia and New Zealand.”
Media5 general manager, Philippe Babin, said signing up IPL Communications will enable it to extend its global reach and accelerate its position in the VoIP marketplace.
