Datacentre solution provider, Digital Realty Trust, has announced two senior appointments to be based at its newly opened North Sydney office.
Peter Wolsey will serve as the company’s director of corporate development, while Andrew Maclaren has been appointed sales director for Australia.
Wolsey has more than 22 years’ experience in software development, pre- and post-sales support, technology infrastructure and management.
He most recently spent 19 years at Macquarie Bank, including division director roles in information services, corporate finance and asset finance.
Wolsey formerly spent eight years in investment banking – in roles including technology venture capital, M&A and technology asset finance.
Maclaren’s background has been the growth and implementation of sales and marketing strategies in broadband telecommunications and hosting.
Prior to this role, he served as Wizz Communications’ managing director, which he led from start-up to success, before negotiating the sale to an ASX-listed company.
He has also headed NSW sales for Destra Business and led the wholesale sales drive for NEC/Nextep in NSW before that.
Digital Realty Trust regional head of Asia-Pacific, Kris Kumar, said the appointments were made for its customer-focused experiences, as the company intends to assemble a strong locally based team to serve clients in Australia.
“The opening of our first Australian office in North Sydney, along with the recent acquisition of the development site in Erskine Park, reflects the company’s long term commitment to customers in this important market,” he said.
